How ID Card Holders Can Be Used for Promoting Your Company

ID cards are an important part of your business for several reasons. The added security is the reason most companies implement ID cards. But forget about ID cards as purely a security measure for a moment.

Here at Ribbonworks.co.uk, we produce ID cardholders that can be used for promoting your business as well.

But how can ID cards be used to promote a company?

Did you Know an ID Card Holder Gives You Colour and Style?

ID card holders can be created in a company’s colours, which is all part of branding.

At the same time, ID cardholders demonstrate that a company is professional in the way it goes about its business. Even the smallest touches can make a world of difference.

Add a Logo to the Back

Anyone who has ever used an ID card knows that it constantly spins and turns around. Instead of continuously turning around your ID card the right way, let it swing. On the front is your staff member’s information, and on the back, you could have the company logo.

It is such a simple thing, but you never know when the right person might be looking at your staff. And if they see that logo, it could pique their interest.

Why Giving ID Card Holders to Guests is a Marketing Opportunity

Think trade show, and it automatically calls to mind businesses dishing out all sorts of goodies. Stand out from your competitors by giving out your ID card holders to guests.

ID card holders are not only a functional item, but as discussed above, they are also very much promotional because of the logo and brand colours.

You could do the same whenever you have a visitor to your offices. Along with a guest ID card for security reasons, let them have your branded card holder as well, which they could then keep when leaving.
Your company logo will be on view long after they have left your premises.

How Do You Do It?

It all starts with thinking about which colour is going to work best for your company. Usually, you should stick to your main company colour so it fits in with the rest of your brand. You should also consider how your logo is going to look on this colour.

You do not want the colours to be too similar. Your logo should stand out at a distance.

Are Promotional ID Card Holders Expensive?

The great thing about promotional ID card holders are that they are not expensive at all; especially when purchased in bulk. This is something we specialise in here at Ribbonworks.co.uk. Just let us have your design and any other pertinent details.

Implement them within your company and get that edge. Contact us today and see what we can do for you!

Product Placement Lessons from the Super Bowl

The NFL’s Super Bowl game is an annual feast of creative marketing for people who work in the advertising world. And although American football is not nearly as popular in Europe as it is on the other side of the Pond, a lot of Europeans still tune into the Big Game every February.

As such, business owners and marketers can learn a few lessons from observing what happens during this annual commercial bonanza.

To start with, consider that a 30-second spot in Super Bowl 51 cost advertisers upwards of $5.5 million (£4.4 million) to reach what is arguably the largest TV audience in the world. It’s a lot of money, but purchasing an ad means broadcasting your message to more than 100 million people.

Kellogg Company Wins

Now here’s the important lesson: the Kellogg Company benefited from a bit of free advertising through unintentional product placement. One of the first adverts to run during this year’s championship game was a spot from Netflix marketing its ‘Stranger Things’ program.

The advertisement began with a clip from an older Kellogg commercial featuring Eggo waffles.

Kellogg didn’t pay a cent but still gained exposure to countless millions of viewers. Just a few days after the game, the same advert has been viewed on YouTube more than 4 million times. Kellogg’s incidental product placement was a huge win for them.

Product Placement Is Your Friend

The point we’re trying to make is that product placement can be your best friend from a marketing standpoint. We’ve already explained in previous blog posts how you can use things like lanyards and silicone wristbands as marketing tools, but consider the potential product placement benefits.

Your company may sponsor a local youth football team by providing head and wrist sweatbands. As the sponsor, your company name and logo is imprinted on every band you distribute. That’s great marketing during the games.

But consider this: lots of people will be taking pictures of the players throughout the season. Those pictures will be posted all over the internet by proud parents. You’ll get instant, unpaid advertising by way of incidental product placement.

Trade Shows & Conventions

Branded ID cardholders and badge holders offer product placement benefits at trade shows and conventions. Lanyards can be distributed at festivals where a heavy media presence is expected. There are so many possibilities here that it is hard to quantify them all.

Your company may never be able to afford millions of pounds for a 30-second TV advert. But if you can afford the cost of branded promotional products from Ribbonworks.co.uk, you can still take advantage of the fringe benefits of incidental product placement.

The key is getting your branded products into the hands of those who will unknowingly spread your message simply by using them. It is a brilliant strategy that was on full display during the Super Bowl.

Conquer the Trade Show with Colour

Your Next Trade Show

Your next trade show is coming up soon. Are you prepared? In other words, are you ready to walk into the show fully decked out in promotional gear that will grab everyone's attention?

If not, it's time to get working on it. It's time to start thinking about conquering the trade show with colour.

Stand Out From The Crowd

Have you ever been to a public event or a local fair and seen groups of people wearing identical, brightly coloured T-shirts? Those are families smart enough to use the shirts to keep track of each other.

You can use the same principle at your next trade show by issuing lanyards or ID cardholders that will stand out in the crowd.

Make An Impact With Lanyards

Imagine every member of your team wearing a bright pink lanyard with your company name and logo. If pink isn't your thing, try a bright mint green or a turquoise blue.

Then match the lanyards with a coordinated ID cardholder for extra effect. No matter where your team members are at the show, they will be easily identified.

More Information

Everybody else will be wearing white shirts and dark coloured ties. Not you and your team. You'll be rocking hot pink. Contact Ribbonworks.co.uk today and see how we can help you make an impact.

Creative Ways to Advertise a Business on a Budget

Advertising Choices

If you are running out of ideas on how to successfully advertise your business creatively and on a budget, this blog post is for you. Here at Ribbonworks.co.uk, we offer a range of fantastic promotional products that are guaranteed to help.

In this piece, we will go on to discuss a few methods of creatively promoting your business for less, ensuring that you capture the eye of your target audience.

Social Media

Promoting your business via social media is a sure-fire way of getting your brand known. Almost everyone has access to the internet, and if you are looking to grab the attention of local people, you could advertise your business on local social media pages that allow ads - think Facebook. Pinterest, etc

Using Your Surroundings

A creative way to advertise your business is to use your surroundings. You could potentially post flyers, posters and pictures anywhere that you look; in the supermarket, on lamp posts, in shop windows.

Most places will allow you to do so for a small fee or donation, and some will allow it completely free of charge. You might as well ask as this is an excellent way to get the local community's attention.

Chalk Writing

If you run a local business and are stumped for creative, yet cheap ideas for advertising, you could look at chalk writing on the pavement.

Using bright colours, most people will be drawn to it and stop to read what it says, which is excellent for getting your business name known. However, the only downside would be to watch out for the rain!

Promotional Bracelets

Promoting your business using snapbands or silicone wristbands is an area in which we excel here at Ribbonworks.co.uk.

We have silicone or slap bracelets that are guaranteed to get people talking about your business. You can print your brand or logo onto these bracelets and hand them out at events as a promotional tactic - everyone loves a freebie!

Help and Support

Hopefully, this post has started your creative juices flowing, and you are now filled with ideas to advertise your business successfully.

We have an incredible range of products - from silicone wristbands and slap bracelets to lanyards to mobile phone accessories - all designed to be durable as they are made from top quality materials.

For further information, or any queries you may have, do not hesitate to get in touch with us today and we will do everything we can to assist you.

The Best Product: The One That Works for You

Best Products?

If we received one penny for every time a customer asked us what the best product in our inventory is, we would be a very wealthy company. In fact, we're often tempted to tell customers to buy a complete selection of everything.

But we know better. We know it's not right to sell just for the sake of selling, and we also know that the best product for any customer is the one that works for them.

Wide Range Of Customised Promotional Products

We carry everything from lanyards to snapbands to multifunctional headwear. All can be enhanced with customised printing for marketing purposes.

But for us to say that one product is superior to all the rest would be to short-change most of our inventory. That's neither good business nor intellectually honest.

Know Your Audience

The key to figuring out the best product for your organisation is to know your audience. Who will you be distributing your promotional products to?

How will the recipients use those products? Will those products continue to advertise for you long after your event is over?

Promotional Products For Kids

Let's say you're planning an event organised around entertaining children. It's not a sporting event, so head and wrist sweatbands are not going to work.

You're also dealing with kids no older than 8 or 10. That means lanyards probably won't do the trick either. What are you left with?

Slap bracelets are a hit with kids primarily for their entertainment value. A kid can have hours of fun slapping him/herself silly with the bracelet.

At some point, though, the novelty will wear off, and the bracelet will find its way into the hands of parents. Instant transfer of marketing message.

Know Your Message As Well

In addition to knowing your audience, you also need to know the message you hope to convey.

That's because certain messages work better on certain promotional items. For example, consider an IT security company that wants promotional products to distribute at the next trade show.

Promotional Products For Business Settings

multifunctional neck tubes and silicone wristbands do not lend themselves well to the professionalism of IT security. They may be fun and whimsical, but save them for the break room.

Better choices for the trade show would be custom printed lanyards, branded ID cardholders, or mobile phone accessories and tablet straps.

Get The Branding Right

Obviously, each of these products can be branded to reflect the name and message of the IT company. But that message must be short enough to fit onto the desired product. So brevity is required.

If you plan to order marketing materials from Ribbonworks.co.uk, please note that we will not be able to tell you which product would be the best for your organisation or event. There are too many parameters that have to be considered.

We've been in the promotional products business since 2003, so we've got plenty of experience and understanding to help you make that choice. We are more than happy to answer any questions and provide information to assist you. Together we can find something that will work well.

Using Lanyards to Get a Powerful Message Across

There are many uses for lanyards in business. However, there are also many schools around the world using them for a variety of applications as well. Take a group of students at a senior high school in Waupun, USA as an example of this. At a senior democratic seminar class, a group of students handed out lanyards attached to small cards to other students throughout the day.

The cards were designed to highlight the issue of distracted driving and the harm it can cause. The endeavour was part of a community service project that the students chose to become involved with.

Important Message

Students from the school were asked to go to the gym and sit with their classmates. As they entered the gym, they were listening to pop music and told that they were getting out of class early. Being as this was a Friday, the announcement was met with a loud cheer.

Students were then asked to put their hands up if they owned a phone. Every student raised their hands and laughed at such a silly question.

The next question concerned whether they could drive, followed by a question about if they ever text and drive. With the American Automobile Association reporting that almost half of all American teens text while driving, it was a very important issue.

Use of Lanyards

The next part of the process required those students who had been handed a lanyard during the day to stand up; they represented a quarter of the population of the school. This same number of people would be involved in a car collision during the year with the cause attributed to distracted driving.

At this point, those who were standing were told to have a look at the message on the card attached to the lanyard. If the message read 'You were killed', they were to remain on their feet.

They were then visibly shocked on hearing that eleven teenagers in the States are killed every single day because of distracted driving. Jordyn Haddy, who was involved with the project remarked, "I see some people in the crowd I would not want to lose."

Getting Your Message Out

Lanyards are powerful tools when it comes to getting a message across. In terms of business, they can be effectively used to promote new products or services. Here at Ribbonworks.co.uk, we have a range of high-quality lanyards that can be printed with a logo or message - contact us today for more information.

How to Successfully Advertise Your Business on a Budget

The Challenges of Marketing

Many business owners find it challenging to find an effective way to advertise their product or brand as they may not always have a lot of funds readily available to splurge on expensive marketing materials.

Some may choose to give up at this point, believing that there is no way to successfully promote their business for a fraction of the cost. However, here at Ribbonworks.co.uk, we are pleased to let you know that we offer a fantastic range of promotional products at extremely affordable prices.

In this post, describe four methods you can advertise your business on a budget.

Sponsor a Local Team
One way to successfully promote a business locally is to sponsor a local sports team. For a small fee, you could buy fourteen shirts that would be worn in local matches so that people from the area can see your brand logo while watching a game.

Being a supporter of your local side is an excellent way to enforce the idea that your business is there and supports local investment and growth.

Free Notice Boards

Make use of free notice boards by putting some printed advertisements of your business in supermarkets or a community centre notice board.

Make sure that you use bright colours and have your brand logo on show to attract the eye of potential target customers and draw them in to read your advertisement.

Make Use of Public Transport
You could also make use of public transport by enquiring about advertising your business through a poster on the inside of a bus, taxi or train, as there are usually advertisement spaces available to do so.

You could have hundreds of people looking at your advertisement.

Branded Merchandise

One of the most effective ways to advertise a business on a budget is to give away branded merchandise such as lanyards, silicone wristbands, card holders, and much more. Everyone loves a freebie, and if it has your brand logo emblazoned on it, even better!

At Ribbonworks.co.uk, we specialise in offering top quality promotional products at an affordable price; this is why we see so many returning customers.

We are so confident that you will love our products that we will even send free samples upon request. If you would like any further information or have any queries, then do not hesitate to contact us today. We would be more than happy to assist you.

Affordable Advertising with Excellent Results

When asked to consider successful advertising methods, many people would automatically assume that this means television or radio adverts that can cost millions of pounds. However, is this entirely necessary to ensure the success of a business? Absolutely not.

Advertising Options

When asked to consider successful advertising methods, many people would automatically assume that this means television or radio adverts that can cost millions of pounds. However, is this entirely necessary to ensure the success of a business? Absolutely not.

Here at Ribbonworks.co.uk, our aim is to show as many business owners as possible that advertising is not all about television; you can effectively advertise your business by using items such as branded lanyards, head and wrist sweatbands and silicone wristbands. All these promotional products are available at affordable prices and prove that you do not have to spend millions to achieve the desired results.

Nevertheless, many companies continue to spend a small fortune on advertising. Bookmaker Coral recently announced a new campaign that on which they have spent millions just to ensure its success.

Rejuvenate Brand

The popular bookmakers have recently launched a multi-million-pound advertising campaign that promotes the company's "extensive" betting offers across many different sports. They have justified spending millions of pounds on their campaign by insisting that it will be a "high-energy and action-packed campaign" that aims to rejuvenate the brand on both the television and radio.

Clever Approach

The new campaign will feature the voice of Peaky Blinders actor Joe Cole; previous adverts have featured sports model Carly Baker and comedian Darren Farley. The bookmakers have been canny in their approach as they will broadcast the campaign over the busy Christmas sports period; it will feature on both Sky and BT Sports channels during this time to capture the attention of their target audiences.

Much More Product Focused

The new campaign is made up of three television adverts, seven radio adverts and press adverts. Coral's brand director, Olly Raeburn, said, "Being a sports fan is not just about winning or losing, it's about getting involved, and this new campaign is designed to encourage punters and would-be pundits to do just that.

Our new executions are much more contemporary and much more product focused. They're brimming with energy, packed full of action and really drive a sense of engagement around sport, putting Coral right at the heart of the action."

Extensive Range of Products

If television and radio advertising is out of your price range, and let's face it, it is for most, do not fret. Ribbonworks knows how to get the most out of your advertising campaign with a limited budget. We have an extensive range of products designed to promote a brand effectively without it costing a small fortune.

Pressure on Publishers as Google and Facebook Dominate Display Ad Market

Finding a way to successfully advertise your business without spending a fortune can be a difficult task. It is often one that many business owners choose to avoid for as long as possible...

Advertising Options

Finding a way to successfully advertise your business without spending a fortune can be a difficult task. It is often one that many business owners choose to avoid for as long as possible.

However, here at Ribbonworks.co.uk, we believe that advertising should not be something to avoid; this is why we provide many effective ways to promote your products and services at affordable prices. Nevertheless, many businesses continue to pay extortionate prices for advertising through television, radio and now online media.

While most assume that the best method of advertising is on television, it would appear that more and more businesses are opting to advertise online nowadays.

Mass Amounts of Pressure

A recent report has suggested that Facebook and Google will own more than 70% of all funds spent on display advertisement online in the UK by 2020. Both companies already own around three-quarters of the display ad market in the US, which is worth £18.4 billion, and 53% of the UK's £4 billion.

The increasing supremacy of these companies is putting tremendous pressure on publishers such as newspapers who have found it extremely challenging to maintain and increase revenue from online audiences as both advertising and print sales have decreased massively.

Quite Concerning

A report by OC&C Strategy Consultants has predicted that Google and Facebook will grow around 24% together every year until 2020, which means that they will dominate the total ad market worth £4.1 billion by owning a massive 71% share; this figure is more than the total current value of display advertising in the UK.

Fergus Jarvis, OC&C partner, has explained that many publishers have been concerned about the impact that Google and Facebook may have and that the threat is "quite concerning". He said, "The scale and speed is really a call to action for media companies. By the time they [Facebook and Google] get to 70% of the online ad market, that doesn't leave a lot of space left elsewhere. A lot of usage is going in that direction [mobile devices]. We are now at a pivot point where the average UK adult is spending more time looking at mobile content than TV. We assume that that trend will continue."

Impact

Sir Martin Sorrell, head of the world's largest advertising group WPP, said that this is a "clear example that referee and player can't be the same person and that marking your own homework doesn't work." Jarvis went on to say, "There's quite a lot of sniping around that particular Facebook story. It's not simple how you measure impact. Facebook are responding to some of the concerns. It's a foolish man who bets against Facebook being able to handle those complaints."
